subject: cleaning old 78 vinyls ?

-> Temps got to 90F and over 70 humitity today, so after
-> yard chores I spent the rest of the day in our naturally
-> air conditioned basement ( Wayne will recognize this as
-> the "celler" in our 1800s home 8-). After transplanting
-> some tomato seedings; fixing a couple chairs and fans;
-> I found a small carton of what appears to be some classic
-> 78 vinyl records that has collected some yuck.

-> Several of you all have discussed copying old recordings so
-> I am hopeing you will be able to advise me how to best clean
-> these records before I attempt playing and copying (some
-> other very hot day 8-( please.

At a guess a mild diluted dishwashing detergent
and lint free cloth but that's just a guess.
