 ABOUT THIS ECHOMAIL CONFERENCE
 ==============================

BBS Carnival is for the discussion of BBSing for both sysops and users
alike. Anything concerning BBSing (within reason) is on topic, such as:
BBS software and front-end mailer support, general chatter concerning
BBSing (this doesn't include flaming), new user questions, et cetera.

The following is a list of rules that conference participants must adhere
to at all times in the BBS Carnival Echomail Conference:

|THE RULE ABOVE ALL OTHER RULES
|==============================
|
| This echomail conference is owned by the Moderator listed in these
| conference rules. This conference is here for the enjoyment of its
| participants and as such, the Moderator must strive to provide an
| enjoyable place to interact. However, the Moderator has the final
| say on ALL matters in this conference.
|
| If you can't live with this or you subscribe to the "a Moderator is
| just an Elist updater" mentality, this echomail conference is not
| for you, and you are sincerely encouraged to leave now.

 1) Anything concerning BBSing is on-topic (within reason). This is
a place for friendly, helpful discussion; this is not the place
to flame someone for their opinion - take it elsewhere or into
netmail. This is also not the place for BBS advertisements. There are
other appropriate echomail conferences, such as BBS_ADS, to post your
    advertisements in.

 2) Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

 3) Don't be excessively annoying. That means no swearing. That means
no using words commonly considered vulgar when describing someone.
It basically means: play nice. If you cannot play nice with the
other children, we'll have to seperate you.

 4) If someone is being excessively annoying to you, ignore them. If you
MUST respond, please do it in netmail and not in the echo. It is the
moderator's job to moderate this echo, not yours.

 5) If something is off-topic, you will be asked to take the discussion
    elsewhere.

 6) English is the offical language in this echo. However, you may post
in your native tongue as long as there is an English translation
immediately following your message in your native tongue (preferably
    in the same message).

 7) The echo rules will be posted, at minimum, within the first week of
every month and whenever I feel it's needed to repost them. The
moderator reserves the right to change the echo rules at any time for
any reason. When changes are made, the changed rules will immediatly
be posted in the echo for your information. If at any time you wish
to have a copy of the echo rules, you may contact the moderator directly
via one of the methods listed at the top of this document.

 8) In the event someone needs to be moderated, the moderator reserves the
right to contact an offending echo participant in any way he deems
necessary, to include public posting in the BBS Carnival echo, netmail,
email, or any other means of contact available to the moderator. The
moderator will make this decision on a case-by-case basis and the
method by which the moderator contacts the offending party is not
    open to discussion or interpretation.

 9) By posting in this echomail conference, you hereby grant permission for
the moderator(s) of this conference to republish your posted content in
other publications or media outlets. You do not relinquish your
copyright in your posted works, and the moderator(s) of this echomail
conference claim no copyright in your work, only the license to
reproduce it as the moderator(s) see fit. While this option may not be
used, or not used frequently, by the moderator(s), the option is listed
in the echomail conference rules to protect the moderator(s) should
the moderator(s) deem it necessary or desirable to republish your posted
work. If you do not agree with this rule, please do not post in this
    echomail conference.

If you have any questions regarding the rules or expections of the
moderator of this echomail conference, please feel free to contact me
directly via one of the methods listed at the top of this document.

I will listen to any objections to any of the rules, and reserve the right
to change the rules or reverse my previous changes at any time. If you
feel that a rule is unjust or undesirable, I will definately listen to
|your complaints. Please feel free to contact me privately.

Thank you,

George A. Roberts IV
BBS Carnival Moderator
