Gold Coins
Normally I avoid recommending small U.S. gold coins in uncirculated
condition because the price always seems too high in relationship
to the gold content. Lately, however, the price has come down on
minor U.S. gold and as a result I have the following sets
available.
I have some nice sets of $10 Liberty gold coins. These antique
beauties contain .48 of one ounce of gold, or essentially a half-
ounce. The supply of these coins won't last forever. These are
the coins that Jesse and Frank James robbed banks for and they have
passed through the hands of a thousand Americans, each with their
own story. These coins helped win the West and build the
railroads. They paid for Carnegie's steel mills and helped to
discover Rockefeller's oil fields.

The same interesting history applies to the $20 Liberty with its
.96 of one ounce of gold. To the perspiring workmen and rugged
individualists who forged our nation's economic strength and good
character, one of these coins was a treasure in itself.

We also have a supply of $20 Saint-Gaudens that have tiny bit of
wear. In the old days these were called Commercial Uncirculated
and many were sold at a higher price. The untrained eye can't
differentiate these coins from the next grades up. These
attractive coins sell for a bit less than the uncirculated pieces
and they represent a great gold buy on what is the world's most
beautiful gold coin.
