There are many changes here at NFB NET, Fidonet 1:282/1045.
In addition to the modem line 612-696-1975, you can now Telnet in from the
Internet. Just point your Telnet client to nfbnet.org, or to 206.11.202.33
if you like the numbers better. While we need to get more experience with
uploading and downloading, everything seems to work.
Next, NFB Talk and Blind Talk are now available as Internet mailing lists.
If you have e-mail capabilities, you can have them delivered automatically to
your mailbox each day. To subscribe to either, send a message to
listserv@nfbnet.org. Leave thsw subject blank and put either subscribe
nfb-talk or subscribe blind-talk or both, in the body of the message. If you
subscribe to both, put the subscribe command and list name on one line, and
the second on a new line.
To get help with listserv commands, put help on a separate line of a message.
You will also see a couple other changes. First, we now have Kermit running
as an upload/download protocol. This protocol is popular on the Internet.
It seems a bit slow, but does work. Some people have reported problems with
zmodem uploads when Telneting, but Kermit seems to work.
Finally, there is a new command on the main menu. It is o for offline
reading. You can find the Bluewave door here. Bluewave is a very popular
message reading and replying system, that many blind persons use. Choose b
bluewave from the o offline menu and follow the instructions.
Happy modeming.

p.s. I almost forgot one thing. You can now send and receive Internet
e-mail from NFB NET. The e-mail area is 90. For complete instructions,
download the file "emailhow.txt" from area 1.
