Thanks, Polly, for your long reply.  I don't believe the SSDI is released for 
1995 yet -- usually takes at least a year!  There are ways to search it 
through the SS Administration.  Call your local office and they'll tell you 
how to do it. They will be most helpful. You should be aware that obits are 
published as public information, but if you request from a funeral home, we 
have had responses that they could not release the information re immediate 
families without informing the immediate family that a request has been made. 
 It really depends upon the funeral home/location, etc.  I suppose they have 
guidelines, as we all do, for what is permissible and what is not, and some 
adhere strictly, and some do not -- like all of us!!! Anyway, you have enough 
clues, and enough to get going on. Let me know how you make out!  You're
