Output the following string to the modem:
ATDT 
Note that the letters *must* be in uppercase. (That shouldn't be a
problem for you!) The second "T" stands for "tone", and makes the modem
use "touch-tone" dialling. If you want to use old-fashioned pulse
dialling instead, change that second "T" to a "P".
