I want to recommend to you-all the 1997 book, "The Cat Who Cried For Help; 
Attitudes, Emotions, and the Psychology of Cats" by Dr. Nicholas Dodman.
In this book, the doctor talks about useing behavior modification and 
medication to help a cat be less afraid or less aggressive, etc.
