   IMNSHO, that last phrase is one I heartily endorse which will be no
surprise to my confreres on this echo who know pretty well by now I *I* 
tand.
Classical philosophy certainly treats of all of those other areas you
mentioned.  I think what you may be getting at is the fundamentalist rigidity
which imagines that quoting specified verses in canonical literature should
provide the ONLY answer to ALL questions.  Because this kind of conversation
is so readily available on numerous bible and religious echoes the only 
eason
for people doing it here is the impetus of evangelism.  But philosophers hate
to censor and deprive people of free speech so you will probably see some of
this.  Don't let it bother you.  
   There are also the arrogant bores who know no other means of responding to
those who disagree with them but to call them nasty names.  Philosophers of
all people should be accustomed to that but most of us still resent it 
ecause
we're, after all, predisposed toward civility and humanity.
