You are correct, I'm sure.  My older brother also enlisted in  '68, but
probably not for the more noble reasons that motivated you in your decision
making.  Despite it being true that their were still persons enlisting in
'68, as I said in the quote you cite below AFTER '68 I believe the vast
majority of 18 year olds rightly wanted to avoid service in any legal way
they could because the war was not being fought to win.
