Anything above NT is a poor choice to run a DOS-based BBS IMNSHO. I've now
set my board up under 98SE and it works great. 98SE's Backup program is a
godsend for me so I can now use my 8GB TRAVAN drive to back up the entire
BBS. :)
If you're gonna run a DOS-based BBS, use 98/98SE or OS/2. Anything else
just doesn't cut it in my book (and god knows I've run enough software to
know this :). Emulated DOS isn't the same as having real DOS... but
there's something else also. 4DOS is now freeware and can replace the
older COMMAND.COM. I've noticed programs run much, much better under 4DOS,
both under OS/2 and 98SE when using 4DOS.
Later,
