The printer here is a HP LaserJet 4p. My two options seem
to be to create the segment as a graphic by scanning it in;
or create the segment in any orientation, cut and paste,
then xerox it for the final camera-ready copy. Theoretically,
there's another: run the page through the printer twice on
the same side, but that screams for trouble (offsetting to
the drum, jams, and all the rest)--I won't do that.
