TB1 (or TPB1): it's a touchpad, and lacks an OS/2 driver, alas, with
Gibbon Double Click also failing to make use of the third button.
That aside, Ctrl-Esc works, and two buttons on the desktop. I'm
not quite clear what a folder background is; it's apparently not
inside a panel with icons, not on any icon, since that does nought.

My phrasing was sloppy. This will get me any *active* app, yes.
Is there a shortcut that will equate to "bring the desktop to
the fore, in front of all the open windows, so I can see
all the icons on the desktop and select one"? Not an active
app, but starting up an icon I haven't yet touched.
Plus, the separate issue on tiling that I've read about in some
help, where you can make four open windows quarter the screen,
say, that I haven't manage to find out how to do.
