PN> VH> What you do is you buy a lot with 100 front feet for $3 or $4K, sell
PN> VH> it for $120,000 and buy a place where you WANT to live.
PN> That's the easy part. The hard part is a. deciding _which_ 100 front
PN> feet and, b. the thirty year wait between buying and selling.
That's always the case, isn't it? If there were only some way to get
tomorrow's newspaper today . . . :-)
PN> VH> Hey -- I'll sell you 9.9 acres in Gloucester County, Virginia -- a
PN> VH> beautiful wooded place 200 yards off the road (with its own access
PN> VH> road and electricity) for half that. :-)
PN> Uh, I don't know a thing about the market in that locale...but somehow
PN> this has the ring of...swampland? about it .
Nope -- it's a wooded ridge, surrounded by seasonal streams. In wet
weather, there are a couple of boggy places, but those happen to be
ideal places where you could put in a pond -- and since the pond would
lie on the property line, you might talk the neighbors into going
halvies with you (which is how I built the road.)
It's actually a very nice piece of property -- I just happen to have 160
acres in the Arkansas Ozarks where I plan to build, and will sell this
parcel in Virginia.
PN> I could swap you for some nice beach property I own.
I already HAVE waterfront property, thank you. :-)
