subject: [OS2HW] Telnet To An Zyxel Prestige P-643 DSL Modem/Router

Hello Telnetters

Well, I have just completed a forced switch of Isp's.

My new ISP is connecting me to the DSL line through an
Zyxel ADSL Modem/Switch.

They are using the Class 10.0.0.2 to connect me to the
Internet. In my ignorance, this seems like the wrong class.

Do I have ANY? privacy, protection from all the world's
viruii using this Class of connection?

I am thinking I would like to change the configuration of the switch.
However, one cannot use a browser to configure
this thing! You have to "TELNET" into it to configure it.

The ISP configures it for their customers before sending it to them.

I have two OS/2 programs here that I know of which are
"telnet" capable. Minitelnet and ZOC.

I can't figure out how to setup this program so it goes
out the NIC rather than dial the modem on the COM port.

ZOC is even more esoteric to me.

Or, would the best, easiest thing be to simply connect
my DLink DI 604 between the modem and my computer?

     Thanks
