Are you using PPP or SLIP to connect?  In my experience, the PPP support in 
the v1.69 dialer often hangs the way you describe; SLIP works fine, though.

Heh.  I'm even more of a Luddite.  My two machines are a 486dx33 w/ 32mb 
running Warp v3 red spine with no fixpacks, and a 486sx25 w/ 12mb running 
Warp Connect v3  blue spine with no fixpacks. 14.4 modems on both...
