RM> 66% where I am.. But, that said, 60% is rather high turnout RM> for most countries. Many have a hard time pulling in 40%. PC> 66% in your area? really! I don't even know what it was like >where I live. SOMEWHERE.. days ago I tripped over a web site that posted voter turnout pretty much everywhere.. Can't remember where or if it's likley to still exist but that's where I found the turnout for here and a very large percentage of areas were very high 50's and up for turnout. Not many got higher than we did here though.. >I am still not even sure who got elected, as since >day one when I moved here to now...the place is the same...run >not by the politicians but the un-elected chairs of this and >that in federal, provinicial, regional, municipal offices and their >staffs that tell the politicians if they can do this and that. This is why a lot of people vote party rather than person. Noone knows who the person is.. B) RM> In Australia you are fined if you don't vote... RM> Sounds like an invitation to Purposely screw things up... PC> They do have a point. Maybe they should do this here, and as >well takeaway the "right to vote". I'd go for that. Yep... >a few months in jail to ponder why I didn't and then not having >to worry about voting as they remove the right to vote. I don't think trying to force people to.. 'care' I suppose, ever works. Anyone who doesn't care who gets elected sure doens't know enough to choose someone if forced to do so.. The 'right to vote' I'd like to see lost is this new thing with the prisons.. I mean really.. We put people there because they are a danger to society and then let them have a say in who runs it ? I dunno... PC>I wonder now how long Mr. Martin's government will last? >mmm but theres another line of discussion. The stronger the minority the longer it usually lasts.. Time will tell.. Have a good one.. B) --- * SLMR Rob * Got my head together...
