the vote, claim that you have the right to decide almost everything.
Soorree, the voters have spoken and the Coalition got the nod.

It was indeed. And clearly since both major partys were in favor of
selling Qantas and the ComBank, and got the vast bulk of the votes, the
opinion of a tiny party like the Democrats that didnt even get double
digit percentage of the votes is completely and utterly irrelevant.

The only reason she has any capacity to say anything is because
we were silly enough to have proportional representation in what
is basically an obscenely gerrymandered house where Tasmanians
get a hell of a lot more say than a NSW voter etc.

There is something fundamentally wrong with an electoral
system which produces a avalanche in the lower house
and doesnt even deliver a majority in the Senate.

And the mindless grandstanding on a Senate enquiry into the Victorian
Casino is even more utterly bonkers. The voters in Victoria have just
had their opportunity to say if they care about how the Casino was done.

She's even worse than that pathetic garden gnome they had before her.
