Although I'm not Paul, I answer you anyway:
DJGPP - DJ GNU Programming Platform, is a DOS Port of GNU's C&C++
Compilers and some other GNU Tools like GAS (GNU Assembler), the GNU
Debuggers and the whole binary tools a.s.o. The code quality of djgpp is
on the level of the well known C/C++ Compilers like Watcom and Borland.
There are also a lot of tools which make a real good development
environment out of djgpp. But the best thing is that you can use djgpp for
free, even for your comercial projects. There are also some disadvantages
in using djgpp. One can only develope DOS programs. One have to use the
AT&T Syntax while writing ASM Code. And the original djgpp distribution
can only produce 386- and 486-optimized code, but there are a pentium
optimized package out which was developed by the Pentium Optimization
Group. If you're interested in more information about GNU just visit
www.delorie.com, the home of djgpp.
Bye.
Yours, Anton Tokar aka Spiceman
