  Buy a PS tester for about 15 bucks.  Plug the PS into it.  If a;ll
  the green LEDs light up, the PS is OK.  The tester is about half the
  size of a deck of cards, puts the PS under load, will last forever,
  and can be used as a paperweight on the desktop between uses.
