why are you tring to setup synchronet as a telnet server for renegade?
I am not sure that tutor is up to date anyhow. i have heard other have
tired with the current version of synch and couldn't get it to work
right also. There are other telnet servers that will load a dos
based bbs on a windows box.

you said you like linux. you could setup a telnet deamon that will load
a dos based bbs in dosemu. so you not stuck with running windows for
the os for a bbs.

it is hard sometimes to learn new software, but with synchronet it
has alot of extra features that might be worth your while. and
they have a linux version that you might consider.

as for renegade. it is slowly getting updated. nothing huge cause i really
don't know how to port things nor do i claim to know how to port it. so,
what you see is what you get with renegade. you can do most of the extra's
you get with synchronet, but not in a nice little package like it has. so,
it alittle more work in getting other stuff up and working with it. i have
been running it over the last 4 years without a failure on renegade's part.
so, it is stable and will be that way until they get rid of dos.
