Yes, the Merit has a retractable keel.  It weighs about 300 lbs.

Gee,  where are you located,  crabbing sounds like fun.  Are these large
king crabs or what?  I used to live in Louisiana and we did crabbing
there but they were just little blue crabs.  I love crab meat.
We used to also get shrimp a lot down there.  Someday I would love to
go to the North East and do some fishing and sailing.
