They tell you right in the manual that by holding down the f+dtmf & turning 
the radio on that it will transmit from 142.5 to 149.5.As far as extending it 
farther than that I have seen nothing on it,Not a bad radio but i find them a 
bit intermod happy.Nice price on em is why i got mine.
