JJ>Hi Robert,
JJ> Check for dirty/loose/corroded contacts on the rear
JJ>of the face plate. Also check for "cold" solder points, and
JJ>last, check the values on the resistors. I used to do Mail-
JJ>order style of repair, but then A couple of frieght handler
JJ>companies started to really mishandle gear and cost me a
JJ>fortune. I could probably clean/resolder the entire face
JJ>plate for $5.00 plus ship both ways. 73's de KB7WTD, John

Thanks will keep you in mind, I have had a chance to look at it now. It
has been in for a EST. see the shop sticker on it, but no diag. notes on
it. When power is applyed it turns on for a fraction of a sec., and then
everytime you push the power button, the samething happens everything
lights up and you hear the audio for a frac. of a sec. then it go's off.
one of the surface mount chips on the face plate has a little metal
bracket that go's over it with foam under it, and it is open (split) and
bent up a little on one side. I sure that it was diag. properly, and
needs a new face plate circuit, now I just need to find one, any
suggestions? Thanks, N1IUZ....................
