Syria is a signatory to the Geneva Conventions so what's the problem?
Mistakes happen in war.  When a mistake or unavoidable necessity results in
an innocent person being killed that's collateral damage and everybody
accepts and expects that in war.  Somebody being taken in for questioning
as an enemy agent but who is innocent is just a different kind of
collateral damage.  Regrettable but hey shit happens.
