Have you considered, even in passing, that all of the dramatic climate changes of the past few 10s of thousands of years (conveniently suppressed as far as possible by the "true believers" in manmade global warming) are part of the Earth's evolution, of which we're just a miniscule part? That we were never intended to rule over the planet in perpituity, that we were always intended to be a small scene in a play with acts stretching into infinity? I mean, who are we to say that we're such hot shit that we deserve to live while the dinosaurs didn't? And how conceited are we to presume that our frail little skeletons carrying fragile piles of fat and skin are capable of affecting the Earth, or the Universe? I, for one, don't imagine that possibility at all. So, I think it better to ship a tractor-trailer sized diesel generator over to the wilds of Africa to help power a hospital, diesel exhaust fumes be damned, and save some lives that are actually in danger, rather than "save the Earth" with dimbulb conservation BS. IOW, I maintain that it's a fool's errand to think that we can either damage, or fix, the Earth, we're merely riders on the storm, enjoy it while you can!* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 379/45 1 633/267 |
