This is likely the mundane day to day 'science'... more practical technique
than theoretical... such as did NA's understand the physics of bows/arrows,

did they just observe the results of testing... it's still 'science'.  How
much did they build on the results of others?
I have a mental picture of Sondra, busy writing up the history of the
local Indian Particle Accellerator research conducted prior to the invasion
of North America... and how the Euros were lucky to interupt it
before they invented the BOMB.

Well, there are many historical sites around the world that people claim
are 'native' observatories... and others that are laid out by the heavens..
I'd call that astronomy... heck I'd even like to know if NA's dabbled in
ASTROLOGY of their own variety... I suspect they did... since the two have
been related in other cultures..
Even before Jim sent me the details of his archives, I went back thru my
very minor set (I'm a packrat of messages) and found the ones I was looking
for... it was a reference to some messages relating to an internet site
that featured Lakota skylore... I'll have to find the reference for you if
you have the WEB... the TEXTs were here about two years ago when I first
was checking in...  I simply don't have the stuff right at my fingers right
now... but I have them... once I date them Jim might repost the stuff...
however without the images, it isn't the same...
so maybe we'll see what happens. More likely that stuff has been added to
or improved...
