This BTW - as a result of comment from someone who used to use the facility
before it was rendered more or less useless.  I have since had a number of
comments in netmail.  All of the line "thank heavens", and hoping
for success.

That's the echo's business.  "No moderator" lands responsibility
on the participants - and the concomitant of responsibility is _authority_.

You're captain of your own course - each and severally.  No one will fix it
but you - and no one's responsible but you.  I can't haul you out of it. 
If you want a legitimate moderator, you lot will have to come up with one
on your own.
