This is a live webcam from South Africa transmitting pictures from a
waterhole in a private game preserve.  The camera is actually manned 24x7
so whenever anything interesting appears, the operator will pan the camera
and zoom in.  At night, there is a slight artificial illumination and the
camera broadcasts black and white.  During the day it is, of course, in
colour.  They have a microphone that is highly directional and whenever you
see an animal lapping you will invariably hear it lapping at the water.

Remember that there is a time difference so checking in during the evening
in North America catches the middle of the night over there.  That's not a
problem, actually.  At night, V and I have seen herds (well, 10-12) zebra,
a couple of elephants, some water buffalo (including some rutting), and
quite a few other species.  During their day, we've seen monkeys and a
bunch of other creatures.  I'm just watching the sunset right now.

One thing you will note:  the constant cacophony of animal and bird calls
daytime and night.
