Howard accepted an invitation to the Tidy Bowl by saying:

Can he win it? Yes.
Will he win it? No.
*Should* he win it? No.
He could make a case for Player of the Year but NOT Most Valuable Player (If 
he's SOOO Valuable then why has his team lost it in the second half?).
Don't think I'm picking on him because he plays for Colorado, I'd pick on him 
if he played for the Braves or his name is Cal Ripken (Alan can tell you that 
I didn't feel that he deserved his MVP when the Orioles sucked).
