Well, I don't know as I'd call it the best. I'm sorta partial to Scale R/C
since I do the planes as well. But it is certainly impressive especially
considering the size of the group and subject it supports.

I'm not too concerned with a narrow hull. I've been doing WWI scale planes
for many years now and my fully funtional JN-4 Jenny cockpit is only 3.5
inches wide. I'm use to working in tight places.

I've been looking at their 1/8" Ohio. Again, it's narrow but the length is
about max for my transportation abilities. But again, they haven't released
it yet that I know of. No decision yet, I have time. Right now I'm doing
the "request for catalogs" thing to see what's out there.
I've long thought about getting into subs. I remember seeing adds for 32nd
Parallel in the mags. Even had a catalog many moons ago. Then, about two
years ago the local hobby shop owner built a Gato class for himself. He did
it mainly because no one else in the area had a sub. It came from some
German kit he ordered. I don't know the scale but it's about 80 inches long
and about 1 1/2 hernias to lauch. Looks good in the water though.
But for myself I can see three or four subs total. A pair of nukes to start
with, one boomer and one attack. Followed by a WWII U-Boat. Not sure which
one yet but I'm leaning towards the type VII. Something with a lot of
detail for sure. Then I'd like to scratch build the Disney version of Jules
Verne's Nautilis. Had some decent plans of it some years back but I lost
them in a military move. Oh well, first things first.
