"Mostly" the habit of "God things" above (light) and "pagan
things below (dark) ................a convenience of convention.
Secondly, some players sampled out of historical myth like Jesus,
Odysseus .....and even Jung descended ...DOWN-DARK-INTO..........!

Appreciate your size and geography correlation but see the Semitic
external obsessions and the Aryan internal obsessions as equally
     beyond my measure to play.

Assuming some major strands of memory do contain ""genetic""
insights (symbolic?): we cannot be sure that *IF* a test could be
devised, the genetic memory responses of Aryan and Semite could be
differentiated. And if could, it would be difficult to consider
"actual experience" or "result of actual experience" recorded
(also how much generational enforcement is contained to amplify the
kin collective memory mass). ........Not simple ...I think.

The book laid out six essential mystery religion complexes
accepted within, and practiced during, the encompassed Greek
high period of the "mysteria" 4th to 1st century BC-
Like Rome, the Greeks seem "curiosity-tolorant" of god systems
that did not "DEMAND" overt public loyalty. J's view saw all the
mysteries as essentially similar enough in reach; purpose; and
initiation, to be near equal. His self deification experience
(dangerous trance into the unconscious) [1913], had a profound
turn-a-round effect on the rest of his life.

      1. Mithra THE SIX MYSTERY oriented GROUPS
      2. Dionysus
      3. Eleusis
      4. Isis
      5. Sabazios
      6. Kabeiroi

Seems the 19th century European authors on the "mysteria" (J's primary
sources during his most impressionable years) went into it all
some deeper. i.e. [Friedrich Nietzsche] taught at University of Basel
BEFORE turning to philosophy. From him J first learned of Dionysian
mystery cults and Zoroastrianism, [Friedrich Creuzer], 4 vol. Symbolik
und Mythologie der altan Volker besonders der Griechen (required reading
for all J's assistants), [Albrecht Dieterich], [Richard Reitzenstein],
[Franz Cumont], and [Karl Hendrik De Jong]. I've left out some, the long
  European titles and capsules.

Though very into the "TRANCE" experience ("active imagination"),
into other-conscious, J was VERY much against chemical induction
     of such.

                              ^
NOTE: The Aryan "occult" had many (DARK) crossover points into
the Nazi underworld ......but that is a whole nother and
           complex of issue.
