| subject: | Hedy Lamarr |
05-18-05 21:53, Jay Emrie told Ed Vance about Hedy Lamarr EV>I haven't looked recently, but I remember COREL having a Movie Star EV>pictured on the front of some of their software. EV>Was that lady Hedy Lamarr or was it someone else? I couldn't say myself, but it could be. It seems to be either a retouched photo, or a raytrace by the looks of CorelDraw 8 here. I couldn't pick Hedy out of a lineup, so others might know better. EV>Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there a lady movie star who also EV>helped out the US Military with Data Encryption? JE> Correct - but for the life of me I cant remember her name. Was reading JE> something about that just a few weeks ago. If you two go back a few weeks/days, Tom Walker reposted a page or two from an inventor type web page for me. Hedy and some player piano aficionado brewed up a band switching system to prevent jamming that is in use to this day in an electronic form on MilStar. I'm sure I saved the text proper, and I can dig out the address if you want to look-see and can't recall old messages. A Google search will pull it up though. ...
