| subject: | Re: [OS2HW] New PSU |
>Let me put it differently. Has ANYONE used a PSU with a large fan? Yes, the larger the better, as the increase in size of the fan, and the breather hole means the fan doesnt need to rotate as fast to move the same volume of air, therefore its quieter. I'm sure someone out there will make a large noisy fan just to ensure thats not true though ;-) I also normally manually mod the voltage so that the fans are running from 5v or 7v (12v-5v = 7v) depending on were the fan is, and how many fans I have in the case. ie, my primary server has 3 fans, PS fan runs from 7v, two case fans run on 5v, all fans are 12v rated bearing fans. My primary PC has 2 fans, both run from manual 7v, nice and quiet. Cheers Ian Manners http://www.os2site.com/ Baffled by Win 98/Me/XP/2000/2003/NT ? Get OS2 or Mac or Linux or BeOS Yahoo!
