Ferrari put the F2004 to the test against rivals for the first time at Imola
today but it was the Williams FW26 of Ralf Schumacher that topped the times.
In rain and snow Ralf set a best of 1:21.869, ahead of brother Michael's
Ferrari by just six hundredths of second. Ralf worked on mechanical set up
and racked up the most laps of the day, 57, but conditions hampered the
team's programme.

Michael was behind the wheel of the F2004, working on development, while
Rubens Barrichello tested tyres in F2003-GA. The pair managed 59 laps
between them. Ferrari continued trying out new aerodynamic developments on
the F2004: two winglets mounted one on each side of the airbox above the
driver's head.
