Hi Ray,
Objective electronic tests of power supplies can and have been done many
times and they clearly demonstrate that all power supplies are not created
equal. The country of manufacture matters far less than the engineering,
specifications and quality control of the company that sticks their name and
reputation on the power supply. The same holds true, of course, for
cameras, stereos and televisions.
