subject: Re: [OS2HW] Software Installing Sony ATAPI DRU-720A DVD Burner

Hi Don,

Using RSJ 5.05 and CDrecord/2 with AudioCDcreator.
On my system with ide/scsi hard drives and 2* IDE DVD burners,
I use the following settings in my eCS 1.1 config.sys.

Simplified:-
------------Quote On-------------
rem On a SCSI hard drive system,
rem put your SCSI drivers here, before Dani

BASEDEV=DANIS506.ADD

BASEDEV=DANIATAP.FLT /EJ /v /A:1 /!SCSI /RSJ

BASEDEV=OS2ASPI.DMD /ALL
DEVICE=D:\OS2\BOOT\ASPIROUT.SYS

REM *** RSJ CD-Writer File System ***
REM BASEDEV=RSJIDECD.FLT
DEVICE=D:\CDWFS\RSJSCSI.SYS
IFS=D:\CDWFS\CDWFS.IFS
RUN=D:\CDWFS\CDWFSD.EXE -p "N:/CDCACHE" -c20000 -b2048 -t2 -i3 -s4
BASEDEV=LOCKCDR.FLT

------------Quote Off-------------

The main advantages are that I don't lose either DVD drive as a reader
and RSJ and CDrecord2 both work. RSJ still burns as drive Z: ONLY
when the drive is "Attached" for the burning session.

RSJ will only use the first DVD drive it finds thru its GUI but the second
can be used from the commandline or by way of CDRWSelV3_04.ZIP,
a utility available on hobbes.
http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/os2/apps/mmedia/cd/cd-r/cdrwselv3_04.zip>

This utility will also complain and make recommendations as to alterations
in your config.sys to use it and RSJ and the Dani drivers.

I generally use RSJ for data DVD's and CDrecord for iso's and CD burning.

HTH,
Regards,
Robert Traynor (BobT).
