Hi, Paul;
...

 II> ...Again based upon _OUR_ knowledge and technology in the 1990's.
 PA> What else is there?

That's the problem: We have nothing to compare to except OUR "known,"
(read that "unclassified") technology.
...

 PA> Nobody has yet mastered the art of being skeptical about
 PA> everything, all the time. Many famous scientists have believed in
 PA> spiritualism and suchlike, often because they wanted to.

This is very true. But then, scientists, (or at least most of the ones
good enough to get international recognition), have had enough schooling
that they question (almost) everything, and accept little without SOLID
PROOF, (demonstratable it in the lab), however even with such a
background, they still keep the belief systems that they were raised
with if it's some field which is outside of their area of training,
(such as religion).

 PA> Do you enjoy asking other people to live up to impossible
 PA> standards?

Not at all. However what's easy for some people is impossible for
others. But I don't expect anyone to necessarily have the same opinions
that I have on any subject.

 II> Skeptic's Cleaver: Hack off any nonconforming evidence.

 PA> GrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry if that bothers you, but EVERYONE seems to tend to "hack off"
anything which does not conform to their particular belief system. This
is human nature. (At least it's better to call it "skeptic's cleaver"
than to mis-apply the term "Occum's razor," is it not???)   :-}

Catch you later... Keep l00king up!
   Ivy

... Say not, I have found THE truth, but I have found A truth.
