I suspect the official answer is "no" but there's no moderator
here to enforce it.
 
If this is a backbone echo then advertising should be banned but,
in moderation, posters manage to get away with it.  
 
Speaking as a reader, I don't mind an one-off, short, concise ad.
 
I do object when people try to carry on business here.  It's an echo
ABOUT business and business topics.
