Progress. Sort of.
I now know the problem is in the ribbon connector. I don't know if it
is a mismatch or a failure, but the one in the current, working caddy
works fine with the Hitachi. Putting the "new" one on the existing
system HD gives me a "No disk" error."
BTW, the bad caddy is not labeled 8.3 gb, rather 3.2gb.
Any suggestions how to find a ribbon?
