Just what can be plugged into a SATA connector? Looking at that, I would assume that the final two are the SATA channels, given that there are only master devices on SATA. As to what you can plug in - there are lots of SATA hard drives around, and even a few SATA CDs (though the only ones of this sort I've seen so far are very expensive). In my experience, SATA hard drives offer a small performance advantage over PATA drives.
