I also notice that at times (well, most of the time). It's not
quite the same as the old dial up days when you connected directly
to the BBS computer (and usually you alone), there  could be a
number of nodes running on the host...

When I first logged on to this BBS there was a terrible delay that
seems to have cleared up. If another node is running a DOS app (a
door or Zmodem, that can cause a delay too..
