This indicates the BBS-side is sending an "ESC" character (ASCII 27), when
SyncTerm expected a ZDLE (Ctrl-X). The ESC is possibly part of an ANSI escape
sequence that MBSE is sending (instead of initiating a Zmodem file transfer).
Admitedly, SyncTerm's logging facilities are rather weak, so you'll probably
need to use the log information from the server/BBS side to help diagnose the
file tranfser issue. If you set "Debug Transfers" to
"Yes" when editing the
dialing entry for your BBS in SyncTerm, that'll generate more debug
information in SyncTerm, but it doesn't go to a file (when it scrolls, its
gone).
We've verified SyncTerm compatibility with sz/rz, fdsz, cexyz, and the Zmodem
protocol drivers built into other BBS software (e.g. Wildcat), so I'm curious
as to this reported incompatibility with MBSE.
