NB>> Have you totally lost contact with those other friends...? Or can you
NB>> still call (or email) them if you really need their perspective...?
DAG> Well there are a couple of main ones in particular that I still keep
DAG> in very close contact with. People in my inner circle I've never
DAG> really let drop by the wayside. I've got plenty of experience moving
DAG> around, and good people, in my experience, are just too rare of a gem
DAG> to just let fall by the road.
For sure... Good that you've been able to keep contact with them... :)
DAG> The problem is that some of them aren't the same
DAG> as far as good text communication as most of them are. It's a
DAG> shame, but hopefully I get to visit the ones that aren't as good at
DAG> text communication soon. I'd do the phone calls, but I absolutely
DAG> loathe them. Regardless, I should probably set apart a little bit of
DAG> my day for that now and then, though.
I spend a lot of time on the phone.. not always my favorite thing, but
sometimes that's the easiest way to cover a lot of territory... ;)
Visits can be even better, but sometimes those are harder to make
happen... :)
NB>> Desperate can get you in trouble, you know... ;) Admittedly, sometimes
NB>> there can be decent people to meet there.... but generally it turns out
NB>> to have been a mistake... :)
NB>> Meatmarkets of just about any sort can be problematic anyway...
DAG> Oh I'm well aware, and 95% of it is from personal experience. So
DAG> far I haven't given in to any of those urges. I actually met somebody
DAG> that I hit it off with really well, with an _amazing_ amount of similar
DAG> interests, as well. The problem was that once I started realizing how
DAG> well we were clicking it, due to a conversational faux pas, ended up
DAG> reminding me of my last serious relationship and it really squicked me
DAG> out. We fell into a different communication pattern, and I'm not sure
DAG> if we're going to meet or not now, but I guess that doesn't matter a
DAG> whole lot since it kind of makes me think that I'm not ready right now.
It's one of those balance situations... being able to separate what's
just baggage from before from what might be true red flags... and not
letting baggage mess up what might be a totally better situation... nor
ignoring danger signs that suggest things aren't heading in the right
direction.... :)
DAG> Not sure if she's in the plain old friends market or not right now.
DAG> :P
Those are the best ones to have when life is unsure... they can build
into something more as time goes along... but one can wait to be sure of
things before gettin too involved... If she is in the plain old friends
market, that could be a very good sign... :)
NB>> Eventually the stars will all be in place and it will happen... ;)
DAG> Yeah I wish I had more of a budget for improving the quality of life
DAG> for D & myself right now, but at this point my accounts are flagged as
DAG> 'no unnecessary expenses' until I've got a paycheck guaranteed coming
DAG> in again.
Understood.
DAG>> We got to the church to socialize and are making it about 50% of
DAG>> the time now, though, at least.
NB>> And that is progress... :)
DAG> Yep. When things were down we missed about three weeks, though.
DAG> I'm really looking forward to going tomorrow, though. Should be
DAG> fun. :)
And did you make it there...?
