We (Valerie and I) were at an all-day Wagner seminar and, after each
presentation, the floor was opened to Q&A.  One little old lady (and
she was all three) invariably asked how people could listen to the music
from the composer whose name she could not mention and someone from the
panel always answered.

General thrust:  the man is dead and no civilized person supports his views
today; the music lives and continues to enthrall listeners.  Just because
there is one reason to loathe a man does not mean one has to loathe
everything about the man.
