BK>> Thanks, Bob, for taking the time to reply as you did. BK>> What MAGAZINES or PUBLICATIONS should I try to consult to find some BK>> advertisement(s) for those PLASTIC horseshoes ??? guenter@ssnlink.net BK> BK> BK>Equus and Western Horseman.. Nice to see that the mail is getting over to BK>Europe quickly these days! :) BK> BK> BK BK> BK>--- DB A3000sl/001347 BK> Well, Bob, actually am NOT using FIDOnet services to correspond with friends in Europe. The information I gather for them via FIDOnetECHOS here, I then pass on to them (translated if necessary) as internet-e-mail. While I still was getting my feet wet (and still am) trying my skills (?) at this BBSing, often exchanged msgs via the USA-EUROPE FIDOnetECHO, which, however, appears to be mostly teenagers chatting back and forth, although especially in Germany it still is VERY expensive even to call a local FIDOnetNODE as a member, since in Germany state operated phone company some time ago switched to charge even for local calls as message units. A young SYSop there also administering the 2:248 HUB reports that BBSing still is INCREASING in participation/memberships. He operates 6 BBS Nodes. The state-owned-telecom has NOT done much to improve their BASIC lines BUT have been pushing people to subscribe to their EXPENSIVE ISDN svc instead. Yet transmissions there STILL drop to very LOW bps. Thanks again, Guenter. --- RyPacker v2.5a 1:2604/539) ---------------BK> * Origin: * Conniption BBS * one fit at a time (1:102/861) * Origin: The Right Place V.34+ DS RyBBS Ft.Lee,NJ 201-947-8231 |
