I honestly don't know what the law says here in Alabama.... just that
there are signs on the divided highway stating that to stop is
mandatory.  This median is easily more than 30 feet.
I don't know of someone getting a ticket for not stopping for a
schoolbus on this road.  I've seen many continue on the opposing lane
even though the signs are posted.
I stop....  :)
