It is possible that your Pro 2042 might not be responding to the digital
emissions, though I would guess that FM mode might be able to pick up
something.  IMHO, either AM or FM reception should sound like a buzz,
somewhat similar to a modem on a phone line.

Is it possible that your "pricy toy" could be using spread spectrum
technology?
