Okay, if it's so dead, then why are there so many responses to my message?

Surely there's SOMETHING to talk about...

Here-my commute this morning to school was fun-an hour and a half to go 40
¨miles (that's one way). But, the good thing is that I didn't have to
spend an ¨extra six hours "making up" time today! :) I am right
now using one of the ¨school's Internet machines to check the BBS (so nice
to have a working telnet ¨BBS) and am going to go get a new computer for
the BBS here in a few.

Since I am using the GI Bill, I am required to have a certain number of
hours ¨in at the school legally so I can get reimbursed for the money I'm
putting into ¨my school (and paying my wife back since I borrowed the money
from her ). I ¨found out that I don't have to be here all day.
It seems that the class I got ¨into is very experienced and we all went
through the class very fast... oh yes, ¨I'm going to a private tech school
to get my A+/Network+ certificates... so ¨because we went through things so
fast, I had to "make up" hours according to ¨the VA. Needless to
say, I just showed up and I was told that was enough.

But, I am going to a great site (http://www.mcmcse.com) and doing tons of
¨practice tests. Unfortunately, my overall score is about 73%-about 20
percent ¨lower than what I want it to be. You can check out my test scores
by looking ¨up the user "sean". So I am doing more and more
studying and am getting a ¨little nervous about taking the tests. I don't
want to have to retake them ¨because they're not only expensive for me
(about $125-$135 a piece-the A+ is ¨two tests, the Network+ is one) but
it's embarrassing.

I also discovered that my medication isn't ready for pickup at the VA
Hospital ¨(about 40 miles south of here where I'm at now), so that's one
less big ol' ¨trip I have to make. I routinely do 100 miles a day of
driving when I have to ¨do errands and school. It's almost all highway
driving and it can be ¨frustrating. However, since I'm an amatuer radio
operator and have a 2 meter ¨rig in my car, I can get on the air and chat
during my stops in traffic.

I just read that the Atlanta commuters have the longest trips to make of
any ¨commuters in the US (for metro areas)... Atlanta is spread out, but
it's nice ¨to be able to come home to peace and quiet.

I'm going to be putting the BBS on a PII-500 here today... more stable.
Plus, ¨considering the fact I tore up my other machine's motherboard (note:
never pull ¨out a Slot A processor while it's still locked in-those
supports pop right out ¨of the mother board and won't go back in :[ ), I
need it. Something like $60 ¨for the machine with a 30-day guarantee. :)
Not too bad.

Anyhow, it's time for me to get going-Friday traffic is horrific and I need
to ¨be on the other side of Atlanta to be home.

Maybe this will give you something to write about and get some more traffic
¨going in here. :)

Take it easy,
Sean
