Verizon has started advertising it at $14.95 a month...

Though that gets you m$n for an ISP,  and there are other "fees and
charges" buried in the fine print that they don't specify,  as per
usual,  and that _is_ "the phone company" so I'd rather deal with
somebody else...

Same here,  if you don't want cable tv service the cost goes *way* up.  :-(
