You're missing the point. Some fanless PSU do have a proper fins, some
don't have fins.
You can't build finless-fanless PSU into a closed case for as there
would be no convection that would be then asking for trouble imho
(heath-piped PSU are an exception of course).
Furthermore, the "funiculus" of all PSU I saw hitherto is mostly if not
always barely long enough. So there isn't much of room to play with.
OTOH, if you can manage to install a finless-fanless not heath-piped PSU
completely out of a closed case, that would be fine of course.
